Exploring Leadership: Personal Leadership Development and Getting Involved
Leadership is so much more than holding a position in a student council or leading a crowd in a group cheer. Leadership is working well with other people to make a positive difference... it is inclusive...and the best is that you can learn it at U of T!
By participating in the Exploring Leadership workshops you’ll discover why leadership is important and how to achieve what you want by getting involved in learning outside of the classroom.
Learn where to look for events, exciting activities, student groups and skill development workshops. We know it can be overwhelming, so let us show you how to focus your energy.
Exploring Leadership Series
Get Involved: Becoming a Leader at U of T
Are you looking to get involved on campus, but don’t know where to start, or don’t even know why getting involved on campus is important? Come to this interactive workshop to discover a new way to think about leadership development and community service. Plus, find opportunities on- and off-campus and find out how getting involved on campus will help you make the most of your time here at U of T.
What is Leadership?
The terms leader and leadership are thought to be essential these days, but often lack meaning. In this workshop you will learn about leadership, from its early beginnings to a new approach of leadership for social change. You will explore a new model that will guide your leadership development as an individual, when working in a group and as a member of society.Goal Setting and Personal Reflection
What is important to you? What are your interests, values, and goals? This interactive workshop will challenge you to clarify your most import values and will lead you through a guided reflection to help you discover and identify personal, academic, and professional goals during your time at U of T.
Working Together
In all aspects of our lives we are faced with situations when we are required to work in teams or groups. This workshop will help you discover your own working style and how that influences your interaction with others. You will also explore group dynamics, conflict resolution, and reflect on how a better understanding of these topics can help you improve your leadership skills.
