Global Ambassador Program
About the Global Ambassador Program (GAP)
The Global Ambassador Program is for international students who are at the University of Toronto (U of T) for a short term, through the CIE international exchange and visiting program. The program connects international exchange and visiting students with a current U of T student volunteer, known as a Global Ambassador. It supports the students through their fast-paced transition to U of T and creates a community of globally-engaged students.
How to join
As an international exchange or visiting student coming to U of T through a CIE program, you are automatically a member of GAP and will be matched with a Global Ambassador.
An invitation to the GAP program will be sent to you after you are admitted to U of T, around July for Fall/ Winter students.
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly students who are motivated to help international exchange and visiting students coming to U of T for a semester or two. The Global Ambassador Program is a peer-led volunteer program aiming to create a positive, welcoming and inclusive student experience for international students. The Global Ambassadors will help with transition questions before the students arrive, plan events and activities during the year and build an engaged international student community.
Participation is open to undergraduate and graduate U of T students. We encourage applicants with global learning abroad experience to apply, including students who have participated in a past/current exchange, in study abroad, and in summer research.
To apply, please visit the CLN website and search for Global Ambassador under volunteer opportunities. Deadline: June 12, 2017.
