University of Toronto (St. George) Club Presidents’ Retreat
Calling all U of T St. George Club Presidents! This year we are having our 2nd annual Presidents' retreat just for Club Presidents. The retreat will provide higher level leadership training and conversations to Clubs Presidents, as well as the opportunity for Presidents across all areas of club interests and practices to meet, share and learn from one another.
The Presidents’ Retreat was designed around Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner’s leading book and theory The Leadership Challenge. The Leadership Challenge framework grew out of rigorous research that first began in 1982 when Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner set out to understand times when leaders perform at their personal best. What emerged were five fundamental practices common to extraordinary leadership achievements: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Process, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act and Encourage the Heart. (Kouzes & Posner, The Leadership Challenge, 2015)
Applications to attend were due on July 14 at 5 PM. We have opened up a waitlist, to sign up for the waitlist, click here!

Here’s what last year’s participants had to say:
“The Presidents' Retreat was a very refreshing experience. Despite being a part of my club for the past 3 years and knowing the club structure and its goals, developing my own leadership skills and thinking about my passions was brought out in the session.” - Joanne Lieu
“Having the ability to meet and connect with others is not only valuable to gain insight on how to improve aspects of your own group, but it also increases future collaborations that improve the success of events run by the group(s)” - Mackenzie McLaughlin
“The Presidents’ Retreat was an amazing opportunity to engage with other leaders of campus groups, build skills and receive instruction and encouragement on how to make a great impact in our university community. The workshops were insightful, the speakers were inspiring and the take-home messages rang deep and true to all of us. I highly recommend this retreat; the team at 21 Sussex has an amazing talent for creating exciting, educations and engaging events.”
