Joint Orientation Leader Training (JOLT)
In collaboration with the first-entry divisions, we provide tailored training to Orientation Leaders on the St. George campus. JOLT is a four-hour training program focusing on the fundamental skills and knowledge required by an Orientation Leader to welcome and support new students to U of T.
Orientation is an exciting time, but it can also be overwhelming for our incoming students. In order to best assist these students as they join the U of T community, we need Orientation Leaders who understand equity, diversity, and inclusivity; how to be an active bystander; and some of the key issues faced by our new students as they begin their transition to university life. JOLT provides this information through a mix of interactive presentations and small group discussions.
This training is open to all Orientation Leaders on the St. George campus.
JOLT session dates for 2018 are as follows:
- Saturday, August 25, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Thursday, August 30, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
- Thursday, August 30, 2 - 6 p.m.
- Friday, August 31, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m
- Friday, August 31, 2 - 6 p.m.
All sessions listed above will take place in the Bahen Centre for Information Technology.
Registration for Joint Orientation Leader Training (JOLT) will open in May.
