CPAC call for new members:

The University of Toronto Centre for Community Partnerships (CCP) is inviting expressions of interest to join our Community Partner Advisory Committee (CPAC) for Spring 2019.

The CCP was created in 2005 as an innovative centre within U of T with a mandate to build community, strengthen capacity and steward partnerships for mutual learning between U of T students and community partner organizations. In 2017-18, the CCP supported 282 community-university educational and research initiatives, in collaboration with 145 non-profit or public sector organizations across the Greater Toronto Area.

What role does a CPAC member play? CPAC members play an instrumental role in supporting the CCP as it fulfils its mandate. Providing advice and feedback, members:

  • ensure that CCP is responsive to the needs and interests of community partner organizations across the GTA from diverse sectors and types of organizations
  • influence the growth and development of community participation and partnerships between U of T and community organizations for mutual benefit, building capacity for Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) and Community-Engaged Research (CER) across the three campuses and beyond
  • contribute ideas and guidance to the CCP’s initiatives, including programs and engaging community, student and faculty learning events
  • attend three or four one-hour CPAC meetings per academic year (September-April) over a two-year term (three years for co-chairs)

Who can apply? Those working in the non-profit or public sector, with experience partnering with colleges or universities in CEL or CER and an interest in contributing ideas, commitment and passion for education and community partnerships, may apply.

We welcome applications from community organizations in diverse programmatic areas (e.g. health, education, the arts, etc.), sizes, locations and areas of expertise in CEL/CER.

Expressions of interest due: Friday, March 15, 2019

New CPAC members will be contacted by: Friday, April 5, 2019

Next CPAC meeting: late April 2019 (to be confirmed once new members have been selected and confirmed)
