Update regarding Centre for Community Partnerships

A message from the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students and the Office of the Vice-Provost, Teaching & Learning

Effective August 1, 2026, community-engaged learning will move to a new structure.

Co-curricular community-engaged learning will move to the Student Engagement unit within Student Life, where it will connect more closely with student-facing pathways in belonging, mentorship, leadership, and student development. Staff from the Centre for Community Partnerships will transition to this portfolio, which will now be called Co-Curricular Community-Engaged Learning.

Going forward, curricular community-engaged learning will move to the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation, with the Director, Centre for Community Partnerships and the Lead Coordinator, Curricular Learning roles both shifting into that portfolio. This will place curricular community-engaged learning within a teaching and learning environment with established expertise in instructional development, faculty development, and experiential learning.

Through this change, U of T students will continue to have opportunities to get involved in community-engaged learning programs (e.g. Alternative Reading Week, Seeds of Justice, etc.) through Student Engagement and to connect that experience to their interests, skills, and goals. We’ll share updated details as the new structure takes shape.
