Eligibility

The Peer Facilitation Program is open to current University of Toronto students. This program is ideal for those who have had facilitation experience and want to continue to develop their facilitation skills. Further, this is a wonderful opportunity for those who want to broaden their knowledge of leadership and its role in higher education within the Student Life community. 

How it works

Working in a team of 3-4 individuals, you will take on the role of a Peer Leadership Facilitator (PLF) or Peer Leadership Advisor (PLA). The program takes place during the academic school year and is a casual position. The Peer Facilitation Program aims to provide students with the ability to build skills, find friends and create community.

The main responsibilities of the PLF role are:

  • Co-facilitating leadership workshops including: Learning to Lead, workshops by request, grad workshops, Ulead, conferences, etc.
  • Must co-facilitate a minimum of 5 workshops per semester
  • Participate in leadership team meetings and continued leadership development training
  • Approximately 3-5 hours per week

The main responsibilities of the PLA role are:

  • Leading the group of PLF’s through the year
  • Co-facilitating workshops with PLF’s, staff and Mentor Facilitators
  • Run/participate in leadership team meetings and continued leadership development training
  • Approximately 5-10 hours per week
