A tuberculosis (TB) skin test will tell you if you have been exposed to TB bacteria.
There are two parts to TB testing:
- Testing you for TB
- Reading your test results (48 to 72 hours after the test)
We will give the TB test and read your test results at in-person appointments.

Service Eligibility
- Full-time and part-time University of Toronto undergraduate and graduate students who have paid the appropriate incidental fees.
- Students who are in high-risk categories (e.g. students or members of one of the health professions, or those travelling in areas where TB is endemic) are particularly vulnerable and are strongly advised to have annual TB testing.
Read the full Health & Wellness Eligibility Policy.

Service Fees
There are no fees for school-mandated TB testing (e.g. for a professional program such as Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, or another school-related placement). You must provide supporting documents from your program, such as the immunization form with U of T departmental letterhead.
Medically necessary TB skin tests also have no fees, and are covered under OHIP, UHIP or provincial health plans.
Fees apply for work, volunteering, and/or third-party requests:
- $40 for each step
- $25 per form
All fees and prices are subject to change without notice. While we make every effort to provide you with the most accurate, up-to-date information, errors may occur.
