Represent Institute Chair 2026
Hiya everyone, my name is Shennel and I’m super excited to be the Represent Institute Chair this year! I’m passionate about youth engagement, health equity, and youth job security.
I’ve served as one of the Undergraduate Representatives for UTSC’s Campus Council for three (soon four) years. I also serve as an Undergraduate Representative on UTSC’s Working Circle, EDI BioSci Committee, and Undergraduate Psychology EDI Committee. I primarily help plan and facilitate events, review policies and statistics concerning hiring, retention, and enrollment in various departments, and oversee campus-specific issues and budgets. Outside of that, I regularly post job and volunteering opportunities, along with scholarships, skill-building programs, and networking/career events on my socials.
I can’t wait to meet and grow with you all!

Michael, Represent Institute 2024
Relationships are critical to success. You’re in constant relationship with one another in various settings and as a leader it’s important to leverage these relationships not only to your benefit but also for connections that’ll help to foster a comfortable environment.
Liam, Represent Institute 2024
The Represent Institute was a great way to find like minded ppl, especially since we all had to take time out of our weekend to show up and chat. I realized many of us had the same thoughts about our academic troubles. We were also able to come together and celebrate our differences. This place made me feel like I was attending summer camp for adults in a good way. We were respected, and it didn’t feel corny (I also didn’t feel like I was being treated like a kid). We were treated as adults who all wanted to grow and improve as leaders for the Fall/Winter semester.
Rachel, Represent Institute 2025
Attending this conference as a graduate student, I learned a lot from my younger peers! It was an incredibly engaging experience, one that helped me feel more connected to the broader U of T community.
Anonymous, Represent Institute 2025
This program reminded me that leadership is not about being in charge — it’s about being accountable, intentional, and inclusive.
